What I Really Learned from College

On Friday I am graduating!!!
This is so awesome and crazy and many other things. I feel like I am becoming more and more adult everyday. It is... I don't know good? bad? ugly? fun? Eh. nothing really describes what it is. It just is.
So I am graduating with my Bachelors of Science in Behavioral Science with an emphasis in Social Work. I am interviewing for a job Thursday. My fingers and toes are crossed that I get it. It would be so awesome to have a job right when I graduate. If I got the job I also wouldn't die of boredom everyday while my husband goes to school and work and I sit at our apartment lifeless (ha ha double meaning).                                          So to commemorate my three years of college I thought I would make a list.

What I Really Learned from College:
1. B's get degrees.
Yes I know it is C's but for me it is B's. In high school I always got really good grades. I just was good at school. Well about the first year into college I realized that if I wanted to survive I needed to lower my standards a grade letter. Yes the A looks so lovely on the shiny transcript but a life outside of school and a B is even better.
2. When to skip class
Pretty much this is anytime you know you aren't miss anything and reading the chapter will take less time and you will get more out of it.
3. Speaking up
It always seems if you speak up a lot in class and the professor actually knows who you are you tend to do better at the end of the semester than if you don't speak up.
4. Sleep is not a priority, neither is a social life....
according to some professor. I would like to dedicate all my late nights to all those loving people who thought that just one more busy work assignment would kill me. No they did not kill me but they fried a few brain cells in the process.
5.High School never ends
Just when you thought you had escaped the loveliness of high school you find out that yup some people just don't know how to act grown up. They are so way too cool for that.
6. How to select a professor
Ratemyprofessor.com is the bomb. I never say bomb it just rhymed so it seemed like it should be used. Anyways if you do not at least try and find out about professors before you sign up for their class you are just asking for cruel and unusual punishment. I am not endorsing trying to find the easiest professors for the easiest grades. I am just saying that is always good to know beforehand what things might be like.
7. Procrasitination
I have always procrastinated. However, in college I have perfected this skill. I do my best in a time crunch. It doesn't work for everyone but it works for me.
8. Some people will just never get it
Not much more to say on that.
9.Confidence
Plain and simple if you are confident who you are and what you do you will always do better and doors of opportunity will open for you.
10. My passion
I think one of the biggest things I have learned is how much I love the field I am going into. When people ask me what I am going into, I answer, they end up cringing a little. I don't care. I love it. I love knowing that I will wake up every day and go into work to make just a little bit of difference in somebodies life. Yeah the pay is crappy but that's not why I am doing it.
